We are pleased to announce that we are partnering with ScreamFree & Hal Runkel to offer a life-changing parenting and adulthood seminar for students and families. We hope to further our position as a Family Resource Center, not just a house of prayer and worship, to give families the resources needed to be more effective and less exhausted.
Hal’s laugh-out-loud, self-deprecating style is so disarming that parents find themselves free to admit their struggles and ask for help. His revolutionary wisdom creates so many aha moments that participants routinely ask, “This makes so much sense, why have we never heard this before?”
We will have three different sessions:
1. Sunday morning (9:30AM) combined classes in the auditorium -“The Role of the Community of Faith in Raising Adults” (FREE Childcare available)
2. Sunday afternoon (1-3 PM), seminar for parents of ALL ages (not just youth or children) -“Raising Amazing Adults by Learning to Pause More andReact Less” (FREE Childcare available)
3. Sunday evening (6-8 PM), seminar for all students from 5th grade through college -“Choosing Your Own Adulthood.” Adults are encouraged to stay.
Don’t miss this incredible event designed to help us all become more like Christ every day!

GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays is a helpful, encouraging seminar for people facing the holidays after a loved one’s death. Please join us on Thursday, November 16 at 6pm at the WestArk Conference Room (access off of the back parking lot). There is no charge for this event, but we do ask that you register here.
The seminar features video interviews with counselors, grief experts, and other people who have experienced the holidays after their loved one’s death and who offer practical suggestions and reassurance. These people share honestly about:
- Being prepared for surprising emotions that may hit over the holidays
- What to do about traditions and other coming changes
- How to handle holiday parties and invitations
- How to survive potentially awkward moments with other people
- Where to find comfort, strength, and hope in a seemingly hopeless time
Those who attend will receive a Survival Guide filled with practical tips, encouraging words, journaling ideas, and exercises for daily help through the holiday season.
For more information, watch this video, call Dena Jenkins at 479.650.3144 or email dena@westark.org.

All of us have hurts, habit and hang-ups. The purpose of Celebrate Recovery is to draw people closer to Jesus while they find healing.
There are many ways in which you can participate in and/or support this ministry.
Life’s Healing Choices Study
We’ve all been hurt by other people, we’ve hurt ourselves, and we’ve hurt others. And as a result, every single one of us ends up with some sort of hurt, hang-up, or habit. But the question we all face is, Where do we go from here?
In addition to practical, encouraging biblical teaching, each chapter includes two real-life testimonies of men and women whose lives have been transformed by living out the eight choices in this book. Through making each of these choices, you too will find God’s pathway to wholeness, growth, spiritual maturity, happiness, and healing. You’ll find real answers, real hope, and a real future—one healing choice at a time.
- Sundays at 9:30AM – October 1 – November 19

Join a Celebrate Recovery Group
Beginning in January, we will host a Celebrate Recovery Group here at WestArk!
Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program that helps us overcome our hurts, hang-ups, and habits. It is based on the actual words of Jesus rather than psychological theory. Twenty-five years ago, Saddleback Church launched Celebrate Recovery with forty-three people. It was designed as a program to help those struggling with hurts, habits and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through a recovery process.
Celebrate Recovery is now in over 30,000 churches worldwide!
